Margit Iguchi, Painter
Margit was born and raised in Southern California by parents who were both accomplished artists. The love and appreciation of art
was instilled at an early age. She took some time off to raise her family, but the passion and desire to create could not be
subdued for long.
After years of painting on canvas, Margit expanded her repertoire and began painting on heirlooms and antique furniture along
with frescos and wall murals. Some of her murals can be seen locally in ciboVino, an upscale Mediterranean restaurant, as well
as Gilbreath Memorial Library in Winnsboro, Texas. Her functional pieces are realistic and often whimsical and creative.
Jungle and Serengeti creatures are favorites with zebra and tiger eyes popping up in unexpected places.
Margit and her husband, York, lived about 20 years in Covington, Louisiana, before escaping to the Piney Woods of East Texas.
Her studio is nestled in the woods along the shores of Lake Winnsboro, in Winnsboro, Texas.
